Award Amount: Award amounts vary.

Application Process: Organizations should review the application criteria to determine eligibility. All requests for contributions must be submitted in writing and should be typed on a King Community Investment application. An application may be requested using the form provided on the Contacts page of the company's Web site. Amplifying responses, limited to three pages, may be attached.

After an application is evaluated, the applying organization will be contacted if a meeting is required for further information. Organizations that seek funding for annual projects should make contribution requests as early as possible, preferably a year in advance. For more immediate projects, requests must be submitted at least 45 days in advance of when the organization needs a response, since requests for contributions are reviewed on a monthly basis.

After a request is reviewed, organizations receiving gifts of $5,000 or more are asked to submit a progress report following the completion of the program or activity. These reports help King determine the effectiveness of its corporate giving.

Contributions must be expended within a year. If any contribution is not used for the purpose intended, the receiving organization must contact King Pharmaceuticals to discuss other funding options or return the check. King does not guarantee contributions from year to year. Organizations must reapply for funding consideration on an annual basis unless notified by King that other provisions have been made.

Deadlines: Ongoing. It is not necessary for organizations to follow up with calls to inquire about application status. All applying organizations will receive confirmation of request status after funding decisions have been made. Please allow 45 days for application review. For approved requests, organizations will receive a check within three or four weeks of approval.
