 Information by State
 Print version

Each week, Neighborhood Networks provides potential funding sources to help centers develop and improve programs and services. Featured this week is the Deluxe Corporation Foundation.

Program Areas: Since 1954, the Deluxe Corporation Foundation has awarded more than $82 million to education, arts, and human services programs and nonprofits. Through programs like Reading for Life, which focuses on helping students who struggle with reading, the Deluxe Corporation Foundation seeks to make communities in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin better places to live and work.

Targeted Area: Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, and West.

Eligibility: The Deluxe Corporation Foundation considers applications from organizations that:

 -   Meet the Deluxe Corporation Foundation's grant focus areas.
 -   Have obtained tax-exempt status under sections 501(c)(3) or 509(a)(1), (2), or (3).
 -   Have operated as a nonprofit for at least two years.
 -   Secure support from other corporate funders.
 -   Serve communities with a Deluxe facility.

Award Amount: Award amounts vary.

Application Process: There are two separate processes to apply for a Deluxe Corporation Foundation grant, depending on whether the nonprofit organization is based in Minnesota or elsewhere in the United States.

Minnesota-Based Nonprofit Organizations:
If a nonprofit organization has not received Deluxe Corporation Foundation funding in the past, it must write a letter of inquiry that describes:

 -   Purpose of the organization.
 -   Description of who the organization serves (e.g., geographic focus, age, etc.).
 -   What type of funding is needed.

If a nonprofit organization has received funding from the Deluxe Corporation Foundation in the past, the organization must submit a grant proposal that includes the following supplemental materials:

 -   Cover letter that summarizes the purpose of the requested funds.
 -   Most recent 990 Form (must include statements and attachments).
 -   Operating budget.
 -   Copy of organization's most recent audit.
 -   Project budget (if applicable).
 -   501(c)(3) certificate.
 -   List of board members.
 -   List of other corporate funders with dollar amounts of most recent contributions.

Please mail inquiry letters and grant proposals to:
