Scheduled for August 3 - 8, Neighborhood Networks Week 2009 is less than three months away. The weeklong observance is the perfect time to host an event that pays tribute to all those who help make your center a success, as well as recognize the achievements of residents. You can also use the event to promote center programs and increase awareness of your center and the Initiative.

To help centers plan a local event, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) created the Neighborhood Networks Week Event Planning Guide, which is filled with ideas for local events, resources, and information on how to plan a successful event. A copy of the guide will be available soon to download from the Neighborhood Networks Web site, or you can request a copy by calling the Neighborhood Networks Information Center toll-free at (888) 312-2743. The hearing impaired may access the number via TTY by calling the Federal Information Relay Service at (800) 877-8339.

Start planning your event today!
