Benefits of Neighborhood Networks for Communities

- -
 Information by State
 Print version

Having a Neighborhood Networks center in a community enhances the quality of life for the residents and the community as a whole.

Residents and neighboring communities served by Neighborhood Networks centers benefit in numerous ways:

 -   Many centers allow residents of the surrounding communities to use their facilities. As a result, community residents have access to services for adults, children, youth, seniors, and the disabled.
 -   By providing activities for youth, centers help reduce property crime and vandalism. The enhanced and safer environment benefits the entire community.
 -   Local employers benefit from centers providing skilled workers, sometimes trained to meet their specific requirements.
 -   Taxpayers benefit as residents become more economically self-sufficient and rely less on taxpayer-paid government subsidies.
