Description:

Does the Neighborhood Networks center have a board of directors? If so, what is the role of the board of directors? How does the staff recruit board members? Do the board members possess the necessary skills to advance the mission of the center and ensure that it has the resources it needs to help residents succeed? Are the staff capitalizing on the expertise, skills, and community connections of the center's board members? This session is for participants who want to learn how to get the most from their board of directors. From the essentials of board governance and the strategic selection of board members to providing training for board members and measuring the success of a center's board of directors, this session teaches participants how to maximize the efforts of their board of directors and provide a rewarding experience for board members.
