D.C. Creating Assets, Savings and Hope (CASH) and Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)

Time: 10 a.m. — 12 Noon

The D.C. CASH campaign has worked for the last two years to provide free tax preparation services in technology and community centers across the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Along with preparation, residents get access to bank counseling and credit repair. In this session, participants learn about the importance of asset building for residents, a successful model implemented in the District of Columbia, the EITC and services offered by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This workshop is provided by the NNNC.

Rachel Kimboko

Rachel Kimboko has worked with youth and community development programs for 15 years. During her career, she has gained extensive program management, planning, implementation, and evaluation experience. Kimboko has provided instructional design, professional training/facilitation, and technology management support on projects located in Boston, and Washington, D.C., as well as other national projects. Kimboko earned a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and master’s degree in education from Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI)-certified elementary teacher.

Carol Quiller
Senior Tax Analyst
U.S. Internal Revenue Service

As a senior tax analyst with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Carol Quiller specializes in the research and development of partnerships with educational institutions and government entities to reach low- to middle-income taxpayers. In this role, Quiller provides outreach and education to organizations that serve this constituency about the services and benefits the IRS offers. Quiller possesses more than 20 years of professional experience with the IRS and has held various positions with the agency. Quiller attended Tennessee State University in Nashville.
