FY 99 Multifamily Initial Endorsements

During FY 99, Multifamily Housing provided $3.8 billion in FHA insurance, $549 million in 202/811 capital advances, and $428 million in Risk Sharing mortgage insurance … a total of $5 billion …. to support the construction, repair or refinancing of 97,286 units/beds in 931 projects. These projects are located in 49 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico and provide a variety of shelter options: 784 apartment/coop projects; 59 assisted living/ board & care facilities; and 83 nursing homes. The insurance also covered 5 hospitals.
