During Fiscal Year 97, Multifamily Development provided $4.1 billion in FHA insurance, $750 million in 202/811 capital advances, and $284 million in mortgage insurance to support the construction, repair, or refinancing of 119,465 units in 1,054 projects. These projects are scattered over 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico and provide a variety of shelter options, including: 875 apartment/coop projects; 61 assisted living/board & care facilities; and 118 nursing homes.
