During FY 2000 Multifamily Housing provided $3.33 billion in FHA insurance, $547 million in 202/811 capital advances, and $1.08 billion in Risk Sharing mortgage insurance … a total of $4.96 billion …. to support the construction, repair or refinancing of 84,781 units/beds in 854 projects. These projects are scattered over 48 states and the District of Columbia. This housing provides a variety of shelter options: 693 apartment/coop projects; 59 assisted living/ board & care facilities; and 100 nursing homes. The insurance also covered 2 hospitals.
