This database in Microsoft Excel includes all "active" 202 Direct Loans for
housing for the elderly or handicapped authorized by Section 202 of the Housing
Act of 1959, as amended, Public Law 86-372, 73 Stat. 654, 667, 12 U.S.C. 1701q.
Applicable regulations appear in the Federal Register, 24 CFR Part 885. The
purpose of the Section 202 Direct Loan program was to provide direct Federal loans
for a maximum term of 40 years under Section 202 of the Housing Act of 1959, as
amended, to assist private, nonprofit corporations and consumer cooperatives in
the development of new or substantially rehabilitated housing and related facilities
to serve the elderly, physically handicapped, developmentally disabled or chronically
mentally ill adults.
