Questions and Answers

What monthly premium report files are available to lenders and service bureaus?

Listed below are the monthly mortgage insurance premium report files HUD provides to lenders and service bureaus. With these files, you can determine the cases in your lender portfolio, monthly premiums due, discrepancies in the billing-payment process, and refunds or reallocations of paid premiums.

 -   Advance Notices
 -   Billing
 -   Case Detail
 -   Lender Notification
 -   Portfolio
 -   Reallocation Transactions
 -   Reconciliation
 -   Refund Transactions

How can I get monthly premium report files for my cases?

Report files for lenders and service bureaus are available on the Internet through the FHA Connection and the Frame Relay Network.

 -   For the FHA Connection, the FHA Connection Application Coordinator for the lender or service bureau grants qualified employees authorization to access report files.

 -   For a Frame Relay Network connection, send a request. The request must include "Frame Relay Request - Monthly MIP" in the subject line; your company's name, mailing address, and HUD mortgagee ID number; and the telephone number and email address of a technical point of contact (POC). (The contact should be a technical person who will be able to respond to technical issues when contacted by HUD.) Your POC will be contacted by HUD when your request has been approved and you can contact a Frame Relay provider. See HUD's Alternative FHA Connectivity for further information about the Frame Relay Network.

What are the report file formats for the Frame Relay Network?

See Advance Notices, Billing, Lender Notification, Portfolio, Reallocation Transactions, Reconciliation, and Refund Transactions. Note: The Case Detail report is not in a file format and is only available on the FHA Connection.

What are pregenerated report files?

Pregenerated report files are automatically created and available on a monthly or weekly basis, depending on the type of report. In other words, they are reports that do not need to be requested by a lender or service bureau. On the FHA Connection, pregenerated Advance Notices, Billing, Reallocation Transactions, Reconciliation, and Refund Transactions report files are available to view online or download. The following pregenerated report files are available through the Frame Relay Network: Advance Notices, Billing, Lender Notification, Portfolio, Reallocation Transactions, Reconciliation, and Refund Transactions.

How do I know when pregenerated report files are available via the FHA Connection or Frame Relay Network?

The Monthly Premiums menu on the FHA Connection provides a link to the Pregenerated Reports Schedule.

What reports are not pregenerated and must be requested via the FHA Connection?

The Case Detail report is not in a file format and must be requested on the FHA Connection. For lenders or service bureaus that are not using the Frame Relay Network, requests must also be made for the Lender Notification and Portfolio report files.

What are the ways I can get reports on the FHA Connection?

On the FHA Connection, a report can be viewed online and printed using the print capability of your Internet browser or the report file can be downloaded to your computer system. Note: Downloaded files are compressed or "zipped" and must be uncompressed ("unzipped") in order to view and organize the information.

How long does it take to download report files from the FHA Connection?
