The Rural Housing and Economic Development Gateway is an information clearinghouse providing technical assistance, training, and information resources to support rural housing and economic development.
The Gateway connects rural organizations with information, technical assistance, training, and investment capital to help them develop, rebuild, and preserve affordable housing, local economies, and essential infrastructure. It focuses on developing the capacity of local leaders in nonprofit organizations to help their own communities.
It engages private sector organizations to establish economic development initiatives in rural areas, and provides training in the development of rural housing, infrastructure, and economies. Gateway staff are available to answer housing and development questions in English and Spanish at 1-877-RURAL-26 (1-877-787-2526) or at rhed@hud.gov.
This website provides information and publications about funding and best practices.
