Telamon Corporation in Richmond, VA will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Innovative Grant in the amount of $399,659. The applicant proposes to use their Innovative award to provide seasonal farmworkers with deferred loans and grants of up to seventy percent to build ten units for forty farmworkers over the a three year period. They also plan to assist three farmworkers with economic development opportunities. Partners and supporters for this applicant are Parker Farms, Northern Neck Vegetable Growers Association, Inc., Rappahannock Migrant and Seasonal Worker Council, the Commonwealth of Virginia, the County of Rappahannock, Byrd Foods, Inc., and Ingleside Plantation Nurseries. Proposed leveraging amounts to over $528,046.
