Four Bands Community Fund, Inc. will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development capacity building Grant in the amount of $100,000. The applicant proposes to use their capacity building award to assist in their Start Up Stabilization Program. This program will increase marketing for businesses on the reservation, establish new funding sources and services, and establish financial management and reporting systems needed to more efficiently and effectively assist the organization. Supporters of this applicant are the United States Department of Agriculture and the Gerald & Janet Carrus Foundation. Proposed leveraging in the amount of $50,000 is committed to this project.

The Lakota Fund, Kyle, SD will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Capacity Building grant in the amount of $150,000. The applicant proposes to use their capacity building grant to plan the development of a community center and economic development program center for 30 participants and to provide oversight into a first time homebuyer lease to purchase program. Proposed leveraging $45,000.

The Oti Kaga, Inc. in Eagle Butte, SD will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development innovative grant in the amount of $400,000. The applicant proposes to use their innovative award to assist them in their Buffalo Lodge Homes housing project serving the community of Eagle Butte. Partners on this venture are the Cheyenne River Housing Authority and the Enterprise Social Investment Corporation. Proposed leveraging amounts to $166,900.

Oglala Sioux Lakota Housing in Pine Ridge, SD will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Innovative Grant in the amount of $400,000. The applicant proposes to use their innovative award to assist in providing 45 low rent dwelling units in nine cluster sites on the reservation. The tribe is attempting to relieve an extreme housing shortage on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Proposed leveraging for this project is $4,458,556.

Oglala Sioux Tribe Partnership for Housing, Inc. in Pine Ridge, SD will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Innovative Grant in the amount of $400,000. The applicant proposes to use their innovative grant award to provide housing counseling and training services. They are also proposing to develop a construction support program to further construction through the addition of infrastructure components. Proposed leveraging is $425,800.
