The Community First Fund in Lancaster, PA will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Innovative grant in the amount of $400,000. The applicant proposes to use their innovative award to establish a revolving loan fund as loan capital to develop affordable housing opportunities, create new businesses and strengthen existing businesses in the eleven county area of central Pennsylvania. Supporters of this applicant are the Lancaster County Commissioners, The John Frederick Steinman Foundation, Economic Development Company of Lancaster County, and the Sovereign Bank Foundation. Proposed leveraging in the amount of $221,000.

Community Action of Southwest in Washington, PA will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Capacity Building grant in the amount of $148,988. The applicant proposes to use their capacity building award to assist in a marketing study to identify and place businesses in its small business incubator, which is being developed with funds from their CDBG discretionary grant. Greene County Industrial Development Authority is lending support to the applicant. Proposed leveraging for this application amounts to $466,961.
