Housing and Economic Development Innovative grant in the amount
of $400,000. The applicant proposes to use their Innovative award
to provide homeownership loans to rural low income families, including
extremely low income and minorities in the counties of Ashtabula,
Lake, Geauga, Portage, Trumbull, Mahoning, Wayne, Stark, Columbiana,
Carroll, Tuscarawas, Harrison, Jefferson, Guemsery, and Belmont.
These revolving loan funds will assist in providing first and second
mortgages to promote decent affordable housing and provide long-term
sustainability. A major supporter of this project is the United
States Department of Agriculture. Proposed leveraging is over a
million dollars.
