The Homestead Affordable Housing, Inc. in Nortonville, KS will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development innovative grant in the amount of $400,000. The applicant proposes to use their innovative award to provide homeownership opportunities, neighborhood revitalization, and job creation opportunities to residents of Junction City, a Champion Community. The funds will assist in producing 46 new homes for first time homebuyers. Various businesses are involved in assisting this organization to achieve its goals, the FHL Bank, the City Manager, the Housing Assistance Council, U. S. Department of Agriculture, Kansas City’s Department of Commerce, etc. Proposed leveraging in the amount of $782,059 is being provided.
