The Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado in Durango, CO will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Capacity Building grant in the amount of $148,925. This grant will be used to purchase equipment, train staff, develop a website for the organization and pay for clerical support. Proposed cash and in-kind leveraging resources total approximately $137,400. Partners and supporters for this venture include Mid-America Manufacturing Technical Assistance Center, Dolores County Board of Commissioners, Southwest Community Resources, Town of Rico and the Small Business Development Center. The target group for this project is an area with a population fewer than 2,500.
