Walking Shield American Indian Society in Tustin, CA will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Innovative Housing and Economic Development grant in the amount of $400,000. This grant will be used to locate and redirect surplus military houses to underserved American Indian populations. Proposed cash and in-kind leveraging resources total approximately $912,000. Partners and supporters for this venture include the U.S. Air Force. The target group for this grant is a Federally Recognized Indian Tribe.
