For most inner city residents and businesses, improving the quality of their surroundings is a top priority. Residents and businesses engage in many activities to accomplish their goals for bettering their neighborhoods. Oftentimes, concerned citizen groups and the business community have joined forces to direct their attention to cleaning up vacant or abandoned lots and preparing them for use by new businesses.

Please visit the Brownfields Economic Development Initiative (BEDI) page and the other resources listed for more ideas about how local communities can reshape their environments for a healthier future.
