Using
data drawn from the Rents and Income section of the Template,
this portion of the Summary tab shows data for four different
categories of units.
-
High HOME Units are acquired, rehabilitated, constructed, or
otherwise assisted with HOME funds and must charge rents within
the HOME Program's High HOME rent limits.
- Low
HOME Units are also acquired, rehabilitated, constructed, or
otherwise assisted with HOME funds and must charge rents within
the HOME Program's Low HOME rent limits. For properties with
five or more HOME-assisted units, at least 20 percent of those
units must be designated low HOME units.
- Market
Rate Units are not assisted with HOME funds and, therefore,
are not subject to HOME Program rent limits.
- Other
Affordable Units benefit from federal, state, or local programs,
besides the HOME Program (e.g., Low Income Housing Tax Credits,
other State or local affordable housing programs, etc.). Often,
these units carry modified rents to make them affordable.

For
each type of unit described above, the Template provides the Number
of Units and the Total Rents earned in Year 1.
