This section of the module walks you through completing the Financing Sources tab of the HOME Multifamily Underwriting Template. At this point in the module, you should have completed the Operating Expenses tab of the Template. Now go ahead and click on the Financing Sources tab to proceed.

After completing this topic, you will be able to:

• Complete the Financing Sources tab of the HOME Multifamily Underwriting Template;
• Understand additional information calculated by the Template based on the data you provide; and
• Describe the underwriting concepts involved in financing a multifamily affordable housing project.

The Financing Sources tab of the Template contains four tables for entering data on your project. Click on the following links to enter data on:

• First Mortgage Characteristics
• Junior Loan Characteristics
• Equity
• Other Funding Sources
• Project Characteristics

Following the entry of these data, the Template calculates information on your first mortgage constraints, which are limits a lender is likely to impose on the size of your first mortgage, and a funding sources summary.

When you have entered all of the inputs on the Operating Expenses tab, proceed to the Custom Loans tab of the Template.
