Site work refers to modifications made to acquired land and existing structures beyond those normally included in the construction contract. Standard site work required to prepare a site for construction or to put it in usable condition after construction is usually included in a construction contract and will be entered under the Construction / Rehabilitation Costs portion of the Development Costs tab. Note also that the Site Work Costs portion of this tab does not include the costs of surveys or soil boring, which are entered separately under Other Owner Costs.

Demolition/Clearance and Site Remediation often include demolition of existing buildings; removal of large amounts of earth to an off-site location or moving earth from off-site for fill or grading; off-site utility or road extensions; or other unusually large or exceptional costs.

Improvements can be made to land or to existing structures. Possible costs include excavation for foundations or utilities; grading of the site; installation of on-site utility lines; on-site roads, walkways, or parking areas; landscaping; outdoor lighting; or other permanent improvements to the land other than the buildings themselves. Even a project that involves rehabilitation of an existing building may have some improvement costs.

Use the Other Site Work Costs field to enter costs related to site work that are not represented by the other items in this category. Enter a label (replacing the "Other Site Work Costs" text) and an amount. If you do not need to use this field, simply leave it blank.
