Grantees can also implement operation and maintenance program strategies to support energy efficiency in their rehabilitation projects. General strategies include:

• Regularly tune-up the furnace;
• Regularly replace furnace filters;
• Clean cooling coils periodically;
• Repair weatherstripping as needed; and
• Reduce hours of operation of lights (e.g., install timers, dimmers or photocells).
