Common Energy-related Housing Problems


Introduction

On average, people spend about 90 percent of their time indoors. Sixty-five percent of that is spent at home. The elderly and infirm may spend all of their time indoors. The condition of a home has much to do with the quality of life of the occupant. In building and caring for homes in our communities, there are many options, among them many different choices that can make the homes more energy efficient, cost-effective, as well as healthier.

This topic outlines several housing problems that have been linked to energy efficiency. These problems can be avoided when energy efficient measures are properly installed.
