Any program funded in part or whole by the HOME Program must adhere to a number of civil rights laws. Collectively, these laws dictate that no person in the United States shall be denied benefits or be subject to discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, familial status, or disability. This topic covers civil rights requirements that are relevant to PJs.

After completing this topic, you will be able to:

  • Identify the key Federal Non-Discrimination and Equal Access requirements with which HOME-funded programs must be in compliance.
  • Describe the basic requirements of these regulations.
  • Locate regulations online.
  • Identify which requirements are relevant to specific HOME activities and how to apply the regulations to your overall HOME program.
