This HOME Front module provides concise, easy-to-understand guidance on determining the income and allowances of applicants to HOME-funded programs. To make the calculation process easier for you, useful forms and tables are also available to download and/or print for everyday office use.
While written specifically for the HOME Program, the requirements and processes covered in this module may also be applicable to other HUD programs, including CDBG, Section 8, Public Housing, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, and others. (If you are unsure whether these requirements and processes apply to a HUD program you are considering, please contact your Local HUD Field Office for guidance.)

HUD's Income & Allowances Calculator Once you have learned how the process works by following the links above, click here to use this on-line program tool that makes determining income and allowances as easy as 1-2-3! Simply enter the data requested and this calculator will work behind the scenes to generate a summary of results for each applicant. Then, all you need to do is print out the summary and include it in the applicant's file!
