Who We Are

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for Human Resource Management is responsible for providing technical services and deep specialty skill needs to support the Department's mission and Department-wide initiatives, and for providing guidance and innovative strategic planning in the area of human capital management. This function is supported by the HR Management Information and Enterprise Resource Management Planning Systems Staff, the Office of Human Resources and the Training Services Office.  

When We Began

The position of DAS for Human Resource Management was established in February 2002 to oversee the Office Human Resources and Training Services functions. The Office of Human Resources has been operational since the Department's inception. Training services under the former HUD Training Academy was established in March 1994 to focus on the value and importance of continuous learning and development of HUD employees.   [Back to top]

Who We Serve

We have both internal and external customers. Internal customers include all HUD employees, supervisors, managers, administrative offices, and senior executive leadership in both Headquarters and the field. External customers include family members of employees, local agencies, and various federal government agencies.
