Darrell Logan, an 18-year HUD veteran, from the Kansas City office, volunteered to assist after Hurricane Katrina. Logan, a CPD specialist with family roots in the New Orleans area said, "It's our mission but, more importantly than that it's an opportunity to help. It's tough seeing those scenes on the television and not doing something."

Logan is part of the Real Estate Assessment Center's Strike Teams in Baton Rogue.  The teams travel throughout the affected area conducting comprehensive evaluations of proposed housing options.
