Consul General of Mexico Visits With Federal Officials in Casper

The Wyoming HUD Office was honored to host a reception for Leticia Calzada, the Consul General of Mexico in Denver. Ms. Calzada met with representatives of local Federal offices to determine how she and her staff can best serve the Mexican nationals living in Wyoming. Attending the reception were Amy Womack of Senator Craig Thomas' office, Jennifer Conrad of Senator Mike Enzi's office, USDA Rural Development State Director John Cochran, District Counsel for the Small Business Administration (SBA) Mahlon Sorenson, and staff from the National Resource Conservation Services, the Social Security Administration, and the General Services Administration. Ms. Calzada was especially interested in small business opportunities and assistance provided by the SBA.

The Consulate provides assistance and protection to Mexican nationals; issuance of passports, consular identifications; birth and wedding certificates; powers of attorneys and information about the issuance of visas to foreigners. They also provide information on Mexican culture and the Mexican tourism industry. The Consulate General of Mexico located in Denver was established in 1893, and serves the states of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Idaho, South Dakota, North Dakota and Montana.
