211-telephone service was activated in Waukesha, Madison/Dane, Racine and Milwaukee Counties on June 11, 2002. In Milwaukee County, the operating name of the 211 service is "211 Milwaukee" and is operated by IMPACT Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services, Inc. In Racine County, the 211 service is a collaboration of the Racine County Human Services Department, United Way of Racine County and SAFE Haven a social services agency in Racine. In Madison/Dane County, the 211 service is offered by United Way of Dane County's United Way 211. In Waukesha County, the 211 service is operated by First Call for Help in Waukesha.
