The home is not a typical Habitat for Humanity Home because it
is built completely by professional builders as opposed to volunteers.
Over 250 individuals contributed their time and skills to build
this home. Fifteen other Habitat homes will be built at the Wolstenholme
Home Project in Magna, Utah which is the first subdivision for Habitat
for Humanity Homes. The homebuyer, Tracy Elkins is a single mother
with three children. She is required to perform 200 hours of labor
to build other homes in the project before she can move into her
home.
HUD contributed $530,000 to purchase land and install the infrastructure
for the Wolstenholme subdivision through HOME Funds through Salt
Lake County.
