The Houston HUD office is donating thirteen desktop computers and thirteen CRT monitors and ten laser printers, in accordance with
Executive Order 12999 entitled "Educational Technology: Ensuring Opportunity for All Children in the Next Century".
HUD will give the highest priority to elementary/secondary educational institutions, community-based educational organizations and
eligible non-profit organizations located in Federal empowerment zones or enterprise communities.
Educational institutions, community-based organizations and eligible non-profits outside empowerment zones or enterprise communities will
receive the next level priority consideration.
Requests for computer equipment must be in writing and accompanied by a statement of need. Requests must also identify the quantity
needed.
All non-profits, including churches, will be required to submit a copy of their 501(c)(3) IRS ruling as well as their bylaws showing
that their primary mission focus is education. Documentation to support that the institution/organization is located within a Federal
empowerment zone or enterprise community is also requested.
Requests must be postmarked no later than July 9, 2008 and mailed to:
