Philadelphia’s Task Force on Homeless Service recently endorsed Philadelphia's Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness. “Creating Homes, Strengthening Communities, and Improving Systems" is the culmination of several months work by more than 100 interested Philadelphians that kicked off under Mayor John F. Street's direction. Pedro A. Ramos, Philadelphia’s Managing Director and Sister Mary Scullion, Executive Director of Project H.O.M.E. presented the plan to the task force.

The 70 members of Philadelphia’s Task Force onHomeless Service represent non-profit, for-profit, philanthropic, advocacy, homeless and formerly homeless, and faith-based members of our community. The plan was unanimously endorsed by voice vote and will be presented to Mayor John F. Street for his support.

The Goal to End Chronic Homelessness: For nearly four years, HUD has increasingly emphasized the Bush Administration's goal of ending chronic homelessness. Part of this effort includes support for the development of local plans like the Philadelphia’s. To learn more the effort to end chronic homelessness, visit http://www.ich.gov/
