Tax Credits Can Cut Your Tax Bills

In 2004, 219,000 working families in the state of Oregon earned an additional $347 million more by claiming the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit [EITC] on their federal tax returns.

By filing your 2006 federal tax return, you may get back:

  • $1,000 per child under age 17 for the Child Tax Credit
  • $4,536 for two or more qualifying children for the EITC
  • $2,747 for one qualifying child for the EITC

By filing your 2006 state tax return you may also be eligible for:

  • The Oregon Earned Income Credit
  • The Oregon Working Family Child Care Credit
