The Homebuyer Assistance Program is a housing assistance program for low to moderate income individuals and families to obtain home ownership. The program provides down payment and loan closing cost assistance. The Homebuyer Program provides to the buyer:

  • Assistance with one-half of down payment and closing costs
  • Referrals to Lending Institutions
  • Maximum Assistance $7,500
  • Minimum Assistance $1,000

Homebuyer Education Workshop

  • Predatory Lending
  • Adjustable Rate Mortgages
  • Fair Housing Regulations

Opportunity To Own/Innovative Housing
The Opportunity to Own/Innovative Housing programs are offered for CARD new construction properties. Designed to decrease the barriers to new homeownership for low and moderate-income families, CARD pursues this goal through a comprehensive and structured process which provides qualified homebuyers with:

  • Homebuyer Education
  • New Home Construction
  • Referrals to Lending Institutions
  • Down-payment and Closing Cost Assistance

Weatherization/HOME Rehabilitation
The Weatherization Program provides long-term assistance for families who are unable to pay high utility bills by ensuring that their homes will have improved energy efficiency after the weatherization process. Low-income families save an estimated 25% on their energy bills, making more of their income available for other uses. This is achieved by stopping air infiltration through the application of caulk and weather-stripping, replacing broken glass, tuning up heating and cooling systems, and installing attic insulation.

The HOME Rehabilitation program provides owner-occupied rehabilitation assistance to low-income homeowners who meet federal income guidelines. Funding for this program is through Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency.
