The Dedication ceremonies for the new Way Home Facility took place in May, 2002.

On May 22, 2002, The Way Home, a local non-profit partner whose mission is to help lower income families and individuals obtain and keep decent, safe and affordable rental housing, dedicated it's Short-term Transitional Housing Facility and Housing Resource Center. As a homeless prevention service agency, they have helped over 4,500 families and individuals with their housing related needs since opening in 1988.

This new facility, located at 214 Spruce Street in Manchester, New Hampshire consists of 11,000 square feet on four levels and includes a reception area, children's play area, housing counseling rooms, a training room, housing resource room, a community pantry, staff offices and 7 apartments. More than 50 percent of the funding for the Center was provided by HUD funds from both the City of Manchester and the State of New Hampshire HOME funds. In addition, The Way Home was awarded $68,000 in the recent award of HUD homeless funds to support its "Steps to Success" Training program. Local HUD staff also volunteered their time during the demolition phase of the Center's development, working hand-in-hand with the New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity.
