City Lights Development – A New Benchmark in Affordable Housing

Brighton Construction has set a new benchmark for affordable housing development in Omaha. A community of homes called City Lights designed around the principles of efficiency, ecology and economy. Every house in the City Lights neighborhood comes with an EnergyStar certificate and incorporates the advanced technological features required under HUD's Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH) program. In fact, City Lights housing development incorporates many of the features showcased at the PATH Concept House, a national demonstration house that Brighton Construction built just a few blocks away from City Lights.

The City Lights housing development is located at 28th Avenue between Izard and Indiana in Omaha, Nebraska. The 16 Craftsman-style, three-bedroom homes, from 1200 to 1600 finished square feet, offer breath-taking views of the city, and are priced at $140,000 - $160,000.

The affordable housing project was developed through a partnership between Brighton Construction, the City of Omaha, Omaha 100 and the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority (NIFA). Funding was provided through the City of Omaha, HUD's CDBG Program and Cornhusker Bank of Lincoln.

Fernando Pages is the founder and president of Brighton Construction Company located in Lincoln, Nebraska.
