Why are these Lewiston and Auburn, Maine landlords spending Saturday in class? It's about Fair Housing.

On April 5, 2008, more than 50 landlords attended the second annual Fair Housing Workshop for Landlords. The event was sponsored by the Community Development Departments of both cities.

There was something for everyone on the agenda and in the toolkits – from advertising to lease fundamentals to reasonable accommodation. Speakers included representatives from the Maine Human Rights Commission, Shankman & Associates, Auburn Housing Authority, Greater Lewiston-Auburn Landlords Association, HUD Bangor Field Office, Common Ties and the Lewiston and Auburn Police Departments.
