Elderly And Disabled Persons' Housing Development:

Through annual competition, Section 202 provides 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with development funding for apartment buildings for Elderly persons living independently. Section 811 provides limited numbers of grants to nonprofits for the development of supportive housing for persons with disabilities through an annual competition. HUD does not finance small group homes for the elderly (board and care).

Neighborhood Networks

Neighborhood Networks are a partnership between HUD and the owners and residents of HUD-Assisted multifamily housing to use computers and technical assistance to link families to economic and educational opportunities.

Section 8 - Project-Based Rental Assistance:

Privately owned rental housing communities currently under Section 8 project-based contracts receive rental assistance on behalf of their very-low-income tenants.
