HUD's Maryland Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) enforces the federal Fair Housing Act and other civil rights laws that prohibit discrimination in housing, mortgage lending, and other related transactions in Maryland.

We also provide education and outreach; monitor agencies that receive HUD funding for compliance with civil rights laws; and work with state and local agencies under the
Fair Housing Assistance Program (FHAP)
and
Fair Housing Initiative Program (FHIP)
.
