The Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) is responsible
for enforcement of the United States Fair Housing laws. The Kansas
City Regional Office is responsible for the four states of Iowa,
Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.
FHEO enforces the Fair Housing Act and other civil rights authorities
that prohibit discrimination in the sale, rental, or financing of
dwellings because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex,
familial status (families with children under the age of 18) or
