HUD OFFERS FAITH-BASED AND NEIGHBORHOOD PARTNERSHIPS INDIAN COUNTRY CONFERENCE

DENVER - U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will hold a Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships Indian Country Conference September 16-17 at the Hyatt Regency in the Denver Tech Center, 7800 East Tufts Avenue, Denver, Colorado.

The two-day conference will bring together Tribal leaders and members, non-profit organizations - both faith-based and secular - as well as federal, state and private sector service providers in order to forge new partnerships, better understand Tribal needs, share experiences and explore best practices.

Keynote speakers will be HUD's Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Native American Programs, Rodger Boyd, and the Director of the Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, Mark Linton.

There will also be practical, skill-oriented tracks focused on organizational capacity building and financial literacy for organizations seeking to enhance their effectiveness in working on Tribal issues. Officials from the U.S. Department of Housing, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Department of Labor will be present.
