Community Action Agencies are non-profit private and public organizations
established under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 to fight
America's war on poverty. These agencies help people to help themselves
in achieving self-sufficiency. Some of the services that may be
provided include: child care, education, energy assistance, emergency
assistance, financial and legal services, food programs, health
services, housing services, prevention programs, self-reliance programs,
and youth services. Below is a list of the agencies in California.
