Senior Living Center Opens in Rogers

 Information by State
 Print version

The Miller Place Seniors Complex, a housing living center for senior citizens in Rogers was the location of a greatly anticipated grand opening celebration. Ground was initially broken for the new housing complex only two days after the September 11th attacks last year.

The Miller Place Senior Complex is a community success story originally envisioned by Arkansas State Representative Cecile Bledsoe, and later made possible by funding largely from HUD. The 24-unit property is an independent living facility specifically designed for low-income elderly residents. The land was donated by the City of Rogers.

The Area Agency on Aging of Northwest Arkansas, which currently serves eleven communities across nine counties, partnered with the HUD Little Rock Multifamily Program Center and the Fort Worth Multifamily HUB to make this latest housing complex a reality for low-income elderly citizens living in Rogers. The complex, which is the Agency's eleventh seniors complex in the state, will provide quality housing to seniors on a limited income of $17,200 or less, and to senior couples with a joint income of $19,650 or less. The new apartments are energy efficient and furnished with a range, washer/dryer connections, a refrigerator and emergency signaling devices.
