Federal disaster relief assistance is available through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). In the event of a National Emergency, HUD partners with FEMA, providing assistance as needed.

The Alaska Division of Emergency Services (ADES) is responsible for coordinating all phases of emergency management in the State of Alaska. In the event of a State emergency, HUD partners with the ADES as needed.

In the Municipality of Anchorage, it is the responsibility of all departments of the Municipality to respond to the needs of its citizens in a serious emergency or major disaster affecting the community. Planning and coordinating this response is the task of the Municipality's Office of Emergency Management.
